About
ScanCheck

ScanCheck is a consumer authenticity verifier for the supplement aisle. Point your phone at a bottle, see whether an independent third-party lab has tested the brand and that exact batch, get a verdict in three seconds. Free. Anonymous. No signup.

The problem

US supplement shelves are unregulated. The FDA does not pre-approve dietary supplements. Manufacturers can claim almost anything on the label, and there is no government step between the production line and the bottle in your hand.

The only honest signal is an independent third-party lab testing a batch and publishing the certificate. ScanCheck indexes those public certificates and matches them against the bottle in your camera in under three seconds.

Frequently asked

What is ScanCheck?
ScanCheck is a free supplement authenticity checker. Point your phone at a supplement, protein, energy drink, greens, or baby formula label and ScanCheck cross-references the brand and batch against an index of independent third-party lab certificates, then returns a verdict in about three seconds. No account, no signup.
How does ScanCheck work?
You scan a label. An edge function reads the brand, the batch or lot identifier, and the product claim from the image, then cross-references it against the ScanCheck index of public independent lab certificates. You see the ScanCheck Verdict: one of three tiers.
What do the Green, Amber, and Red verdicts mean?
Green (Verified): the exact batch is on file with an independent lab certificate. Amber (Tracked): the brand is in the index but that specific batch is not yet on file. Red (Unverified): no public independent lab certificate was found for that brand.
Is ScanCheck free?
Yes. Scanning is unlimited and free. ScanCheck Pro is an optional subscription for power features such as a watchlist, alerts, and certificate export. No account is required to scan.
Does a Red verdict mean a product is fake?
No. A Red verdict is not a judgment on the product. It means ScanCheck holds no public independent lab certificate for that brand. Treat it as a prompt to ask more questions, not a final answer.
Which labs and programs does ScanCheck index?
ScanCheck counts certificates from labs and programs with public accountability standards, including NSF Certified for Sport, NSF Certified Dietary, USP Verified, Clean Label Project, Informed-Sport, Informed-Choice, PowderHaus Labs, and Blueprint third-party. ScanCheck does not author certificates and does not test products.
