The problem

US supplement shelves are unregulated. The FDA does not pre-approve dietary supplements. Manufacturers can claim almost anything on the label, and there is no government step between the production line and the bottle in your hand.

The only honest signal is an independent third-party lab testing a batch and publishing the certificate. ScanCheck indexes those public certificates and matches them against the bottle in your camera in under three seconds.

How verification works

• Open scancheck.app on your phone. No login.
• Point the camera at the supplement label.
• Our edge function reads the brand, the batch / lot identifier, and the product claim from the image.
• We cross-reference against our index of 100+ brands across 8 independent labs.
• You see one of three verdicts.

Independent labs we index

ScanCheck only counts certificates from labs with strict, public, accountability standards. The current index covers:

• NSF Certified for Sport -- US pro-sport gold standard, banned-substance + label-claim test.
• NSF Certified Dietary (NSF/ANSI 173) -- identity, potency, contaminants on dietary supplements.
• USP Verified -- US Pharmacopeia program, common on multivitamins.
• Clean Label Project -- heavy-metal + plasticizer + pesticide screening above FDA monograph.
• Informed-Sport -- batch-by-batch banned-substance test (WADA Code).
• Informed-Choice -- consumer-grade Informed Sport peer, monthly sample testing.
• PowderHaus Labs -- Nootropics Depot's testing partner.
• Blueprint third-party -- Bryan Johnson's protocol, full PDF certificates published per batch.

What we promise

• Anonymous -- no account, no email, no IP linkage. The privacy policy is at /privacy.
• Free -- scanning is uncapped. ScanCheck Pro adds power-user features (watchlist, alerts, certificate export). See /upgrade.
• Open -- the index sources are public lab certificate registries. We do not author certificates and we do not test products.
• Honest -- a RED verdict is not a fake-product call. It means we have no public lab certificate for that brand. Use it as a signal to ask more questions, not as a final judgment.
